At the American Swedish Institute, we have a versatile variety of rental options suitable for all events. Between the modern design and historic spaces, we guarantee our venue will satisfy your event vision.







Larson Hall
Rental of Larson Hall gives you the privacy of the entire 2nd floor space in the Nelson Cultural Center. This includes use of the promenade which makes a great pre-function space perfect for cocktail hours and with floor to ceiling windows; the space offers incredible natural lighting and a unique view of the mansion and courtyard. The walk out terrace is included and is a picturesque spot for guests to step outside for fresh air and also offers a breathtaking view of the mansion. Also on the 2nd floor of the Nelson Cultural are rest rooms, a coat room, and elevator access. Larson Hall itself boasts a large dance floor, built-in projector and screen for easy hookup to a laptop, 2 wireless microphones, and the ability to connect to an ipod up to the house sound system. The room has an abundance of natural lighting and two shade settings at your control. The room also includes many pre-programmed lighting options. Catering is executed seamlessly from a full-service kitchen accessible from the rear of the room.





Promenade
The promenade is available for rent on its own when Larson Hall is not in use. This space is perfect for standing receptions of up to 100 and/or seated meals of up to 60 guests. The floor to ceiling windows offers incredible natural lighting and a unique view of the mansion and courtyard. The walk-out terrace is also included and allows your guests to step out for fresh air and take in a beautiful view of the mansion.





Folke Bernadotte Conference Room
Our Folke Bernadotte Conference Room is located on the first floor of the Nelson Cultural Center and is situated directly next to the FIKA Café. Standard setup for this room seats up to 30 conference style and includes a podium, though we are happy to accommodate alternative setups to meet your needs. The room includes a built-in buffet, house sound system, podium, projector and screen, wireless microphone, and white boards. The room receives ample natural lighting as well pre-programmed lighting settings included dimmers which you may adjust at your convenience.





Nelson Cultural Center 1st floor
This space is a public area and is available for rent after hours and when no other major functions are taking place within the building. Please inquire for more information.



Studio Classroom
The Studio Classroom is a great space for craft and creative activities. With natural lighting this space is great for detailed work. The room includes a large whiteboard for instruction and presentation, a long counter top with sink, and tile floors for easy cleanup. Standard setup is conference style, though we are happy to accommodate alternative setups to meet your needs.
